Nature offers an ever-changing abstract canvas of shapes, textures, and colours—forms that can never be truly replicated by human hands. Each moment reveals a unique visual language, sometimes still, sometimes shifting in an instant or unfolding slowly over time. This endless array of natural expression is a generous gift, inviting us to look, feel, and interpret in our own way.
In these aerial images of salt lakes, I begin with nature’s canvas as the foundation, then gently enhance the colours to draw out its inherent vitality and visual strength. Nature can be reserved, often concealing its full expressive potential. Through the lens, I seek to reveal that hidden energy—an unbridled abstract symphony of colour, texture, and form that transforms fleeting natural moments into enduring artistic experiences.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Simon is a self-taught Melbourne based photographer whose passion for the last 30 years has been photographing streetscapes, landscapes and more recently, aerial landscapes, in Australia and many other countries. Simon creates photographic projects that represent major influences in his life. These range from projects that capture his youthhood memories of beachside summer holidays to observations from his time living in New York City.
More recently, it’s been the rawness and beauty of the Australian landscapes that never cease to delight his photographer’s eye, offering an abundance of subjects and locations for seeking new imagery opportunities to capture landscape moments in time.
