The RiverTale project began mid 2024 when I eventually decided to visit Iceland. Motivated by the "Tree of Life" series of famous Italian photographer Isabella Tabacchi (the FAPA 2024 winner), I wanted to photograph structures and, therefore, I studied online maps for hours ... and found this unbelievable valley. In June 2024 I could do the shootings - what an experience to fly the drone thru this valley, so unreal, almost supernatural.
In a valley on the Icelandic Highlands water finds its way shaping the land into majestic forms, symbolizing resilience and interconnectedness. Rivulets, streams and brooks seemingly run over and under each other, crossing, parting and melting again, creating wonderful abstracts, that let your phantasy run.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Thomas' life as a photographer spans the arc from analogue photography with his own development laboratory in his youth to digital art photography. He is a self-taught photographer, but also frequently photographs with others, for example on trips to the Dolomites, Spain, northern Norway, or Iceland.
Finding motifs in order to turn them into photographic dream images requires patience and an eye. Seeing what seems inconspicuous. Capturing what remains hidden to most people. That is where Thomas finds his motivation, even though it often requires tough efforts to withstand the outdoors challenges.
In the studio, the image is reworked: image cropping, colour adjustments, depth of field improvements, and contrast adjustment, but always within cautious boundaries
His photographs are regularly shown nationally and internationally in solo and joint exhibitions. Recent successes at international competitions are 2 Honorable Mentions at the IPA2025, Gold and Silver Medal at the Nexus IPA2025.
