Captured from above the remote salt fields of Useless Loop in Western Australia’s Shark Bay region, this series transforms a working landscape into pure abstraction. The aerial perspective reveals a mesmerizing geometry — luminous ponds of turquoise, cobalt, and aquamarine divided by ochre levees that trace the rhythms of salt harvesting.
What might appear industrial on the ground becomes, from the air, a serene symphony of form and color. Each image explores the delicate balance between natural process and human precision — where evaporation, minerals, and time collaborate to create patterns of quiet perfection.
Seen together, these photographs are meditations on structure and stillness, turning the austere salt pans of Useless Loop into a painterly world of calm geometry and endless variation.
Compositional adjustments were made using elements from within the same frame. No external imagery or AI-based tools were used. All tonal and structural edits were performed in Photoshop and Lightroom, with additional processing in external noise-reduction software.
