Shingle. Unintended Geometry. (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The series 'Shingle. Unintended Geometry' is a visual study of the centuries-old wooden churches in the Opole region of Poland. By stripping these structures of their religious and historical context, the artist treats them as complex, mathematical sculptures. The work explores how hand-crafted, weathered wood creates fluid, rhythmic patterns that resonate with modern abstract aesthetics. Through high-contrast black and white photography, the series investigates the interplay of light and shadow on warped surfaces, paying tribute to the silent struggle between human craftsmanship and the passage of time. It is an approach of 'pure' observation, capturing the monumental essence of these modest, forgotten masterpieces.
