DESCRIPTION
This photo shows the gigantic wooden structure of the Grand Ring during the World Expo Osaka 2025 and its interplay with light and visitors from all walks of life enjoying their time in this semi-open space. The series show the transient beauty of the Japanese culture inspired architecture under different light conditions.
AUTHOR
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Gary Ng is an architecture photographer who travels the world searching for geometric perspectives and poetic interpretations of human interactions with space. In 2025, he became the first Hong Kong photographer to win in the Architecture Photography Awards, and his work has been internationally featured by Vogue, Tatler, Esquire, Domus, Designboom, Ming Pao Weekly, RTHK etc. Gary has been sharing architectural and travel photography content via Instagram since 2017, and has over 50,000 followers to date.
