The new city library, designed by architect Eun Young Yi and opened in 2011, is an architectural highlight on Mailänder Platz in Stuttgart. It is a white cube with a double façade, featuring a white, multi-storey atrium with surrounding galleries inside.
I deliberately placed the library building in the background so that the emergency staircase of a bank building first attracts the eye and only then leads to the library. I deliberately emphasised the other buildings only slightly with light.
