The city is also made of what we no longer look at.
In Ghost Town, closed shops emerge as silent presences — ghosts of former commercial entities, suspended between what once was and what is no longer. While our gaze is drawn to illuminated storefronts, these spaces remain on the margins, unseen and unheard.
The mist that surrounds the image does not conceal, on the contrary it reveals: it erases the superfluous to let absence surface. In this way, abandoned shops return to existence, asking to be seen, remembered, and listened to

Italian, born in Sicily, lives in the Venetian area. She starts experimenting as a self-taught photographer then attends some workshops, among which the one with Franco Fontana who later brings some of her works in several collective shows “Fontana e quelli di Franco Fontana” in Milan in 2016, and in Foggia Fotografia 2018. The series “The Deepest Part” was awarded with honorable mention in the International Photography Awards IPA 2018. Some of her shots have been published in the second and third volumes of the book “Il corpo solitario: l’autoscatto nella fotografia contemporanea" by the art critic Giorgio Bonomi; one of her pictures is kept at the National Archive of Photographic Selfportrait at the MusInf in Senigallia. She exhibited the project “Ore perplesse” in the collective show “Trevignano Fotografia 2020” and held a persona photo exhibition in Bassano. The work “There’s a crack in everything” was awarded at Venetofotografia in September 2022.
