Conceptual nominee

This series aims to describe the psychological consequences that can arise from early relational traumas such as neglect, abandonment, physical and/or sexual abuse. Early trauma is not just a painful memory: it is an experience that interferes with the development of the self, the regulation of emotions, and the perception of one's own body. It can generate dissociation, a sense of emptiness, identities constructed through adaptation, and difficulty distinguishing between protection and isolation. The visual path follows a progression. It opens with the "Internal Mother," which represents a profoundly psychoanalytic theme: repair through symbolic substitution. The act of cradling or protecting a doll is not, in these cases, a childish game, but a ritual of compensation: the person offers themselves, through the object, the tenderness and attention they have not received. It is the frozen memory of loss: the scene repeated endlessly to soothe a void that is never fully filled. The following images represent "Intrusive Memories and the Fragility of the Self," "Alienation from Reality," and the construction of a "False Self." Finally, "Hamlet's Doubt" (a literary reference to Shakespeare's tragedy): the tension between existence and evasion, between the desire to assert oneself and the fear of dissolution.

Born in Sicily in 1974.
She begins with a passion for the landscape, passing through Street Photography and Reportage, to arrive at the Portrait of which follows various workshops with Italian and international Masters including Giovanni Gastel and Mustafà Sabbagh. She then continued his studies on Fashion Photography and Post Production at the prestigious Kaverdash Academy of Photography in Milan, where she further refined lighting, shooting and editing techniques.
