"Huo Hua" translates from chinese into fire flower, a way of describing what a firework looks like in the night sky.
There is a pre conception on what a photograph of a firework should look like, zoomed out showing the location and a sky full of explosions. Sometimes it's stacked with numerous images to fill out the sky, other times it's just one massive firework.
What if instead of zooming out, we zoom in, and we keep zooming in, and we start experimenting from there.
Shot on Portra 160 at the Sun Moon Lake Music Festival mid November 2025.
