The idea for this composition was born the moment a thought flashed through my mind: doesn’t a little fish resemble a long nose? From there it was swept up in a whirlpool of associations - comparisons, conjectures, added details - and carried off into the very depths of my turbulent imagination.
It resurfaced not alone, but surrounded by images from the paintings of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and, carefully holding in its little fins a fragment of *The Birth of Venus* - so dear to my heart - by Sandro Botticelli, it took its place in this story.
So this photo is very much about me: about my gastronomic and cultural tastes.
