Through this photographic series, I aimed to elevate ordinary garden plants to the level of spectacular presences.
Since I don't always have access to extraordinary subjects — in fact, most of the time I'm surrounded by the familiar and the mundane —, I choose instead to create, or rather to reveal, the often overlooked side of the ordinary that quietly shapes our daily lives.
Flowers, whether they are majestic roses or humble weeds, possess a certain sensuality — something I first discovered through an earlier series called the Bloom project.
This time, I wanted to offer a brighter, almost ethereal vision of flora — one that seems to be bathed in its own inner glow. That’s why I call them light fixtures: through the LensBaby lens, these flowers transform into true diffusers of sensual, warm, silky light.
I began creating images on January 7, 2017. It may sound strange, but it happened unexpectedly—and I haven’t stopped since. Photography allows me to return to that state of perpetual wonder we often lose after childhood. I find unexpected beauty in muddy landscapes, crumbling buildings, and the streets I walk every day.
