A Pamir Sunset (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Deep in the heart of the Tajik Pamir Mountains, at an altitude of 4500 metres, lies Zaroshkul Lake, one of the true gems of this beautiful and remote mountain range. It was a strenuous 3 days to reach Zaroshkul, and I definitely had my doubts about hauling an-almost 1 kilogram zoom lens, in addition to the rest of my camera equipment. However, I knew that the best view would be almost 20km away from our campsite, and I would need the lens to capture the 5500m peaks and glaciers, which I had previously only seen on wide-angle shots. The high altitude, arid conditions ensured a cloud-less sky, and the unnamed jagged peaks and flowing glaciers caught the last rays of the crisp sun.
