Nature nominee

A small, shallow lake appears like a turquoise eye in one of many high-altitude salt flats located in northern Chile. The crystal clear water reveals clusters of round, white formations, like salt bubbles. These natural structures give the pond a unique, surreal mix of color and texture. The scene conveys a sense of isolation, purity and natural beauty in one of the driest and most remote regions on earth.
