In this series, I explore nature as pure abstraction, to reveal nature’s mastery of texture, pattern, dots, stripes, curves, and layered textures shaped by evolution and disguise. Moving beyond traditional wildlife portraiture, the collection isolates the microscopic architecture of survival, where scales mimic eyes and feathers become abstract art.
The narrative is anchored by the startling contrast of a living, violet-skinned eye, which locks gazes with the viewer. This is juxtaposed against nature’s visual deceit: the powdery, graphic 'eye-spots' of butterfly wings evolved to confuse predators. The series further explores structural diversity, transitioning from the sleek, monochromatic linearity of silver plumage to the dizzying, rhythmic chaos of speckled feathers.
