Night nominee

In the night of Chile’s blooming desert, a solitary cactus rises as a witness to the sky. Darkness conceals the colors and fleeting life of the flowering season, yet its presence remains latent, reminding us of nature’s strength even in aridity.
Above, the moon shines with a luminous halo, a fleeting phenomenon born from ice crystals in the atmosphere. Around it, scattered stars complete the composition with a serene rhythm.
The vertical form of the cactus contrasts with the circular halo, creating a dialogue between earth and sky. The plant embodies resilience and rootedness, while the moon and its halo evoke mystery and transcendence.
This image is not a literal record, but a metaphor of night: an encounter between what blooms unseen in the earth and what radiates in the heavens. It invites the viewer to contemplate permanence and transience within the silence of the desert night.
