Where the Alps meet the Milky Way (Single)
DESCRIPTION
What had begun as a journey to Provence soon turned into a "journey within a journey," taking me to the Col de la Bonette, one of the highest roads in Europe (~2,700m). From there, the landscape ranged from the profile of Monviso on the left to the peaks of the French Mercantour National Park on the right. Above me, the summer arc of the Milky Way opened up, with its reddish regions rich in ionized hydrogen in the constellation Cygnus, the bright clouds of Sagittarius, and the delicate hues of the Rho Ophiuchi region: visible signs of stellar birth and transformation that tell the story of our Galaxy
