The photo that cost me my camera.

We were just about to wrap up the shoot. Myself and the model saw a small nook in a rock where the water from incoming waves gently splashed against. We assessed the scenario and determined that it would be safe to take the shot.

I stood in a small pool surrounded by rocks, leaning against one. The model took her position and moments later I hear a wave approaching. I started shooting and five photos later the wave broke not just against the rock but over it submerging me and my camera under water.

This photo was the very last image my camera ever took.

I started my journey with photography 9 years ago. My goal had always been to create unique art and due to the fact that he was not blessed with the talent to draw or paint I opted for photography as my medium. With time I have created a unique portfolio of fine art images of very wide variety. A photo is not just a photo for me, it must be art.

I have had several of my works displayed in two art galleries in Cape Town.

Published in Model Society Magazine addition 15 in 2022.

I reside in Cape Town, South Africa, with my wife, Bianca, and our dogs and cats.
