Trauma has power, but it is not a chosen power.
It is an invisible imprint that conditions, transforms, sometimes breaks.
Childhood trauma does not end with childhood.
It does not disappear with growth, it does not dissolve over time. It enters the body, takes root in the mind, and begins to shape the perception of oneself, of others and of the world.
Those who grew up without feeling safe, those who were ignored, devalued, abused or abandoned, do not just learn to survive. They learn to distrust. To not even trust their own thoughts.
The mind, in these cases, is no longer a refuge: it becomes a battlefield. Unprocessed memories can return in the form of flashbacks, disturbing dreams, uncontrollable emotions. Sometimes, even as voices that speak from within, often with the same threatening tone that we suffered as children: a noise that cannot be turned off.
It is not weakness. It is adaptation. But it is an adaptation built on fear, not on love.

Born in Sicily in 1974.
She begins with a passion for the landscape, passing through Street Photography and Reportage, to arrive at the Portrait of which follows various workshops with Italian and international Masters including Giovanni Gastel and Mustafà Sabbagh. She then continued his studies on Fashion Photography and Post Production at the prestigious Kaverdash Academy of Photography in Milan, where she further refined lighting, shooting and editing techniques.
