Open Theme nominee

A tribute to The Sunflowers from Van Gogh, one of the most iconic painting of the XXe... for me, when we see them, we can see thru this flowers all humanity reunited in one single vase. All huddled together, cut from their roots, they look at each other asking why they withered and wilted.

In my bouquet, some of my flowers are real flowers and some are synthetic (plastic, Silk and paper). Alway the same vase, but he look always a little bit different. The separation between each element is also more fuzzy. After all, we are now in the XXIe Century.

I come from the world of writing; words were my first passion. Not stories, essays or poetry but the words themselves. The words with the particular power and magic they carry when placed in a context where their multiple meanings can coexist at the same time.

Then one day I realized that I had spent enough time writing and wanted to discover other things. I understood through photography that there was a larger kind of writing, out there, in my own garden, and that I could marvel as much at a piece of wood, or a little flower as I did at words. Again, everything was a question of context...
