Arms, Beards, and Heads (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The series is an ongoing portrait project of which 5 out of 10 are finished. I have used 35mm film and originally printed my images in a dark room. As I have developed more skill I have scanned my negatives and have printed them from silver gelatin to archival inject. In my series I am focused on surrealism portraits using texture and masks and costumes. The process has become a collaborative visual treat between myself and my subjects.
AUTHOR
Bio:
Amber, a portrait photographer from Fort Worth, Texas, creates work that lives at the intersection of intimacy and surrealism. Guided by a deep curiosity about human presence, she uses portraiture as a collaborative space—inviting people into her frame not as subjects, but as co-creators. Her images often feature masks, layered textures, and dreamlike costumes, transforming everyday faces into symbolic figures that explore identity, vulnerability, and the stories we hide beneath the surface.
Originally studying photography at Tarrant County Community College, Amber developed her visual language through experimentation, collaboration, and a desire to push beyond traditional portrait conventions. Her education laid the foundation for a practice rooted in both technical skill and imaginative narrative.
Exhibitions:

A Black and White photography Exhibition by

Opening Reception: ‘The Eclektibition 2025’
