Forest of Light (Single)
DESCRIPTION
A volcano erupts, lava finds its way and eats furrows into the earth. Water flows, sediments settle, seeds fly in. Moss and lichen begin to grow. A painting is created - everything comes together, life emerges - this is the Forest of Light.
AUTHOR
Thomas' life as a photographer spans the arc from analogue photography with his own development laboratory in his youth to digital art photography. He is a self-taught photographer, but also frequently photographs with others, for example on trips to the Dolomites, Spain, northern Norway, or Iceland.
Finding motifs in order to turn them into photographic dream images requires patience and an eye. Seeing what seems inconspicuous. Capturing what remains hidden to most people. That is where Thomas finds his motivation, even though it often requires tough efforts to withstand the outdoors challenges.
In the studio, the image is reworked: image cropping, colour adjustments, depth of field improvements, and contrast adjustment, but always within cautious boundaries
His photographs are regularly shown nationally and internationally in solo and joint exhibitions. Recent successes at international competitions are 2 Honorable Mentions at the IPA2025, Gold and Silver Medal at the Nexus IPA2025.
