X – Trance .2025.
These works are documentary photographs with the unknown ('question mark'). They were taken in Phuket, Thailand in 2025. They are about a mysterious trance. NO PAIN - NO BLOOD?
Short explanation : ’Trance associated with ritual body piercing in the cultures of the Far East is a controlled, sacred altered state of consciousness that enables the transcendence of pain and physicality in order to establish contact with a deity, fulfill a religious vow, or achieve spiritual purification’.
Clear ? No. For me , it is still mysterious …
