Spending time with eagle hunters at the beginning of winter is a privilege. To meet these wonderful people, you have to travel to Western Mongolia, near the Chinese border. The population here is mostly of Kazakh origin and still devotes itself to hunting with eagles, a tradition that was at risk of being lost during the communist regime because it was banned. It is at the beginning of winter, when the climate becomes more severe with temperatures dropping below freezing, that the eagles can take flight and, in harmony with their trainer, hunt the prey.
This activity would not be possible without the small but courageous and strong horses they use on rugged terrain. Watching them at work is an honor and reveals day after day how special these people are: despite being hardened by extreme natural conditions, they display a hospitality and kindness long forgotten in the Western world.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
A photographer not by profession but by passion, in 2015 I began to develop an increasing interest in travel reportage, and with it, landscape and portrait photography. I attended the PerCorso Perbellini course, and in 2024 I received two honorable mentions at the Tokyo International Photographic Exhibition, after submitting my work almost as a joke. I believe that photography is, above all, a way to relive emotions, feelings, and glimpses of life that will become eternal.
