Just in the last forty years, Iraq has been incessantly plagued by deaths, conflicts and genocides.
Only a few years ago, attacks and deaths ceased in Iraq, and in the country, there is a clear desire for peace. This project tells the story of four months spent in Iraq, covering it all, from Basra to Erbil. It tells of the peace that is looking for roots, in a reality where the signs of war and pain are clearly visible and everywhere, with the faces of the Libyan and Iranian religious leaders of the militias who stand out along the streets, even with those of hundreds of Sunni cadets exterminated by ISIS, as with the prisons where the Kurds were tortured or the graves where they were buried. But it is also a country where kindness is everywhere, and the rhythms are serene, the most tangible way to take care of peace.
