The Sentinel (Single)
DESCRIPTION
This image is a multiple exposure featuring an Australasian Gannet and its colony. This visit was filled with overwhelming despair as many of the chicks from the Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand colony in 2025, had died during a strong storm and cold front. This image depicts the dark, unforgiving side of nature and the harsh elements these incredible birds endure.
AUTHOR
I am a passionate amateur photographer. My love for photography started at a young age and has only grown since. I am in absolute awe of the beauty of nature. My main passion has been aimed at wildlife and nature photography. I hope to one day call this my job but know I have much to learn before that day comes. In 2024, I won the Canon sponsored competition 'Canon Round 8' through the Photographic Society of New Zealand. In 2025, through my local camera club, I won the best overall image of the year award and the AC Davis Challenge Cup award. In 2010, I had one of my photos featured in the atrium lobby of the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in Tallahassee, FL.
