The Fractured Planet (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Day-to-day life feels very dysfunctional in the current times. Relationships between people and between countries seem strained to breaking point and all the while we exert more and more pressure on our fragile planet. This series was put together using live stacking in which multiple RAW images were blended using a variety of stack operators. These different stack operators gave each of the images a distinctly different feel in spite of the fact that all of the images were taken on the same day and in the same place in South Island New Zealand. I wanted to create a set that illustrated how fragmented and fractured life feels so each image gets progressively darker and more dissonant.
AUTHOR
I have been doing photography since 2013 and would describe myself as a nature lover who enjoys making photographs. My camera is both my paint brush and my canvas, granting me the luxury of self-expression.
I truly believe that beauty transcends its conventional world view and can readily be found in the unlikeliest of places...in the mundane, in chaos and even in tragedy. And that beauty in the unexpected is always there, waiting to be found. We simply need to take our time and open our eyes - to look, but more importantly, to see.
