Since my child was born, I have taken a portrait of him every January 1st as a way to mark time and record his growth. On January 1, 2026, we came to my studio, and this image was taken during a warm-up moment before the formal shoot.
The cookie crumbs on his lips add a sense of everyday life and gentle humor to the portrait, blending ritual with reality. This work is both a personal record of our parent-child relationship and a reflection on time, memory, and childhood. It presents an honest and warm moment within my ongoing annual portrait project.
