This on going project emerged during a deeply vulnerable period in the artist’s life, marked by emotional turbulence and inner instability. Through macro photography and subtle digital intervention, the camera became both refuge and language.
Using everyday objects found within her immediate surroundings, the artist constructed intimate visual environments shaped by natural sunlight between 3:00 and 5:00 pm. By approaching subjects at extreme proximity, familiar forms dissolve into abstraction — transforming the ordinary into immersive, almost unrecognizable landscapes.
Each image represents a distinct emotional atmosphere. Cool tonal palettes dominate the series, interrupted by subtle traces of warmth, while heightened contrasts of light and shadow generate tactile textures that intensify the sensory experience.
Rather than documenting objects, the work explores perception under emotional pressure — how fragility, distortion, and beauty can coexist within the same frame. The ambiguity invites viewers to question what they are seeing, encouraging personal interpretation and emotional projection.
Developed between 2019 and 2021, this body of work reflects a process of transformation: a moment when creative attention became a way to navigate darkness and rediscover light within the act of looking closely. It stands as a testament to resilience and the quiet power of sustained human observation.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Camila is a Colombian visual artist currently based in Málaga, Spain. Her practice moves between architectural photography and intimate fine art exploration, united by a deep sensitivity to space, detail, and perception.
With a background in Marketing and Advertising in Bogotá and photographic studies in Buenos Aires — where she lived for eight years — her work reflects a dialogue between structure and emotion. Architecture introduced her to geometry, light, and spatial awareness; her personal projects emerged from lived experience, turning the lens inward.
From 2019, she has developed an ongoing close-up series born from a deeply personal chapter of her life. Through proximity and abstraction, she explores vulnerability, transformation, and the quiet intensity contained within detail. By isolating fragments, she invites viewers to reconsider what is seen and what is felt.
Her images oscillate between precision and poetry — between constructed space and intimate landscape. Influenced by travel, art, and the subtle narratives embedded in environments and bodies, Camila’s work seeks to slow perception and expand emotional awareness.
She continues to cultivate both commissioned and personal projects, building a visual language rooted in observation, intimacy, and the power of attentive looking.
