DESCRIPTION
Captured above Hutt Lagoon in Western Australia, this aerial image reveals one of the world’s largest natural beta carotene production sites. The lagoon’s vivid pink evaporation ponds contrast against bands of cool blue water, forming a striking pastel palette shaped by science and sunlight. Harvested here and exported globally, the beta carotene produced at this site is used in products ranging from cosmetics to nutritional supplements and aquaculture feed. From above, the engineered geometry dissolves into abstraction, where industry mimics art and colour becomes the dominant language of the landscape.
