What is missing sometimes shapes our thoughts, feelings, and actions more strongly than what is physically present. It creates meaning through “negative space” and highlights that absence is not just nothingness, but a dynamic force that defines our experience.
The staged images of this series should not be too concrete in their message, but rather have a slightly whimsical touch and, through the deliberate use of coordinated colors, light, and shadow, encourage the viewer to interpret them in their own way or trigger a feeling of present absence in them.
