ODE Stories is personal work exploring the human presence and its identity, in relation to space and light, with images that rather suggest than explain.
Working exclusively in black and white, the series focuses on moments where perception, memory, and emotion intersect, creating images that exist between presence and absence.
The photographs resist linear storytelling and instead rely on fragmentation, layering, and subtle visual tension. Through restrained composition and tonal nuance, small gestures and fleeting moments are given space to resonate.
The absence of color emphasizes form, contrast, and atmosphere, allowing the images to function as quiet, introspective studies rather than descriptive narratives.
The work invites slow viewing, encouraging a contemplative exchange between image and viewer, where meaning remains open and hopefully gradually unfolds over time.
The images were photographed in 2025 in Amsterdam, Ibiza and Paris, and were created through digital photography and post-processing in Photoshop.
Editing included contrast and tonal adjustments, black-and-white conversion, layering and double exposure techniques, as well as masking and blending. These processes were used subtly to enhance atmosphere, depth and visual layering.
