Conceptual nominee

This work tells a simple story of a couple who meet and end up falling in love. Although little by little they realize that their individual freedom and personal space is more important than the relationship itself and they end up separating.
This work raises a reflection on the nature of commitment and personal growth since it is difficult to balance a relationship with your own projects, passions, desires and ambitions.

César Blay, 44 years old, is a graphic designer and photographer, born in Gandía (Valencia). He studied Graphic Arts, and later, Advertising Graphic Design at the Barreira School in Valencia. Likewise, he trained as a photographer at the CEV school in Madrid and as a web designer. He has worked for advertising companies and as a freelance designer.
Starting in 2007, he began to hold photography and illustration exhibitions, both individual and collective, including "Walls", "Hidden Games" or "Grrruñidos". He has also won several photography contests and was a finalist in PhotoEspaña "Descubrimientos 2013".
He has exhibited at PhotoEspaña 2106 and 2107 and at the SegoviaPhoto 2016 and Castellón festivals.
He has also published a book through the publishing house La Fábrica. He has edited in magazines and fanzines such as EÑE or Contemporáneos Zine.
His work has been broadcast on TVE2.

He is represented by the Bat Gallery (Alberto Cornejo) Madrid.
