Tender Excess is a staged photographic series created in 2025 between studio and constructed sets in France.
Drawing inspiration from Renaissance and Baroque painting, the work explores how classical visual language can be reinterpreted through contemporary photography and childhood imagination.
Children inhabit carefully composed scenes inspired by historical gestures, symbolic objects, and theatrical light. Their presence introduces tenderness, play, and emotional immediacy into traditionally dramatic compositions, transforming excess into something intimate and human.
Rather than recreating the past, the series establishes a dialogue across time, where inherited visual traditions are reimagined through curiosity, freedom, and imagination.
