A Quiet Distance moves within the threshold between presence and disappearance, between inner and outer worlds. The project explores change as a lived, embodied experience — not as a defined event, but as a state of being.
Through an intuitive and slow process, I move between portraiture and landscape, between the human body and organic forms. The images emerge in moments of transition — where stillness shifts toward movement, and vulnerability carries quiet strength.
The title refers to the subtle space between what is seen and what is felt. It is not about separation, but about attention — a quiet awareness that precedes transformation.
The work grew from an experience of living in a world that rarely allows space for reflection, slowness or deep presence. Within that tension, the images search for stillness.
A central question in the project has been how my gaze as a woman shapes the way I portray both women and men — and how that gaze might create space for nuance, ambiguity and emotional depth.
