“Aurea” combines elements gathered during a trip to the river with vintage backdrops. Natural and artificial forms merge to recreate a landscape that does not truly exist, yet feels ancient. Between water, plants, and colour, the images drift between memory and fabrication.

Photography: David Tortora & Jaime Travezán
Jaime Travezán (Peru) and David Tortora (Italy) have been collaborating since 2009 on a range of personal and commercial projects. Their joint work is described as “anti-minimal,” visually rich, and “realistic but categorically non-real,” combining photographic and art direction practices into constructed, hyperreal images.
Jaime Travezán began his career as a photojournalist in his native Peru before relocating to London in 1985, where he shifted his focus to fashion and portraiture. His work has been featured internationally in magazines such as i-D, Elle, and Vogue, as well as in newspapers including The Guardian, El País, and The Huffington Post.
In 1999, Travezán briefly returned to photojournalism to cover the Kosovo War. Over time, his practice evolved toward documentary photography and ultimately into fine art. Alongside his independent work, he continues to collaborate with art director David Tortora on selected projects.
