Highlands of Creation” explores one of the most primordial landscapes on Earth—the Icelandic Highlands—captured from the air during rare moments of dramatic light. In this series, glacial rivers, volcanic deserts, craters, lakes, and mountains converge into a world shaped by the ongoing dialogue between fire and ice.
Viewed from above, this environment reveals patterns impossible to perceive from the ground: rivers glowing like polished silver under storm light, volcanic cones illuminated by the first touch of sunrise, and sediment-rich meltwater painting delicate transitions between darkness and color. The atmosphere plays a fundamental role—clouds opening for seconds, storms retreating, and low-angle light transforming the land into a living organism.
The goal of this series is not documentation but translation. These images reinterpret the Highlands as a space where creation and destruction coexist with extraordinary harmony.
