“Earth’s Inner Geometry” reveals the hidden structures that emerge when natural landscapes are viewed from above. These images—created over glacial rivers, volcanic deserts, and mineral-rich badlands—transform the surface of the Earth into a canvas of abstract forms.
Sediment flows mimic biological systems: branching veins, cellular structures, roots, nervous pathways. Mineral layers unfold like brushstrokes of turquoise, orange, violet, and rust. Meltwater carves patterns that resemble life forms emerging from shadow. None of these geometries are artificial; they arise from the physical laws that govern how water moves, how erosion unfolds, and how minerals settle over time.
The purpose of this series is to explore the boundary between landscape and abstraction. Some images appear almost anatomical, others painterly or mineral-like, inviting the viewer to question scale, context, and meaning.
These photographs uncover a visual language written not by humans, but by the Earth itself—a language shaped by time, pressure, flow, and transformation.

Jabi Sanz is a Spanish landscape photographer known for his immersive visual storytelling and his ability to capture the elemental power of nature. His work reflects a deep connection to the outdoors, shaped by years spent exploring remote regions, often sleeping on mountaintops or traveling for weeks in his 4x4 converted campervan in search of perfect dawn light.
