The Path Ahead (Single)
DESCRIPTION
This image was taken after dark in ancient woodland. I experimented with the positioning of several portable lights until I could see the photograph I was looking for. The lighting was turned to a very low setting and a long exposure balanced the scene and retained some light in the sky.
AUTHOR
I have been a professional photographer for almost 40 years, but get most pleasure from my personal photography projects. I am English, based in the South-East of the UK.
For my Colour work, I particularly enjoy working at night in ancient woodland when virtually all natural light has faded and I can craft an image entirely from my own imagination using soft, portable lighting and long exposures.
For my Black & White work, again I often work at night with a standard camera but also in the daytime using an infrared converted camera.
I am only interested in something different to the norm. If it's been done before or doesn't connect with me then I'm no longer interested. I must be able to look at the image in a month's time, a years' time, five years time and it still get as much pleasure from it as the day I took it.
