The Anxious Slumber Project
The society and era we belong to constantly incite something. Whether it's consumption, production, or knowledge, those who pause are treated like the dead, cast as people who waste time.
Even right up until we fall asleep, we are forcibly connected to countless people through small devices, observing each other's lives. We strive not to fall behind, even during travel and rest.
The Red Queen Hypothesis, which states, 'It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place,' aptly describes our current time. While we may agree that competition has made us more comfortable and prosperous, now that this lifestyle has infiltrated our inner selves, the true meaning of comfort and happiness is vaguely distorted.
This project seeks to escape from excessive competition and comparison.
The process of finding inner peace will allow us to reorganize our lives: by reflecting on ourselves, sorting through the time that has passed, and seeking genuine support in our relationships with others. Through the exploration of The Anxious Slumber Project, we hope to reclaim the lost tranquility amidst the waves of anxiety.
