"Shiyu": Debut Exhibition at 100 Days (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This series was captured in June 2025 as a conceptual photography project dedicated to my son's hundred-day celebration. The collection revolves around the idea that "parents are the creators, and the child is their masterpiece," framing the birth and growth of new life as a metaphor for the creation, emergence, refinement, and exhibition of an artwork. Originally, the project intended to rationally depict the infant as an inanimate object stripped of human attributes, suggesting that a child and an artwork are fundamentally alike. Yet during the shoot, the relationship between the baby and the concept of “artwork” grew increasingly nuanced. His arrival profoundly reshaped my way of living—something no other piece of art could achieve. What began as family photos to mark his hundred days gradually evolved into a personal reinterpretation of how art comes into being.
