In this series, the ephemeral nature of organic life is distilled into a dualistic study of presence and absence. By utilizing a clinical, high-key aesthetic, the work strips away the sentimentality of "nature" to focus on the raw mechanical process of decay.
Each diptych presents a moment of peak vitality—saturated with moisture and color—contrasted against its eventual mummified state. This is not merely a documentation of rot, but a portrait of structural transformation. As the cellular walls collapse and the water evaporates, the fruit loses its identity as a commodity and gains a new, sculptural identity as a relic.
The shriveled skins and deepened hues become a topography of time, suggesting that beauty is not found in the preservation of the "perfect" state, but in the honesty of the inevitable decline. The series invites the viewer to witness the quiet, violent choreography of entropy, reminding us that every living form is simply a vessel in a state of slow, magnificent transition.
