Becoming the role model he lacked (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Growing up in a small town in The Netherlands, R-Jaye lacked a role model. Someone to lean on when he felt lonely, was bullied, or faced verbal or physical abuse for dressing up extravagantly and expressing who he truly is. Now, he's decided to become that role model himself for young people facing the same challenges as he did. R-Jaye combines his love for makeup and performing arts and sings his own songs. I photographed him at home and in salon theater La Bohème on behalf of the regional newspaper PZC for an article by journalist Wendy Wagenmakers.
