yuragi (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Guided by the belief that “chance surpasses human understanding,” I capture and express fleeting moments of coincidence through photography.
As the metaphor goes, “the birth of life in the universe is like scattered clock parts accidentally assembling themselves underwater.”
This analogy reflects the extremely low probability of life’s emergence.
My work traces this metaphor literally.
By placing and stirring people and mist underwater, I create conditions rich in chance.
Within this, I photograph moments when unexpectedly beautiful forms emerge—moments that seem like something coming together.
This is an attempt to encounter something beyond my own intention through photography.
AUTHOR
Born in Fukuoka Japan in 1988.
He first stepped into the world of photographic expression after purchasing a camera to document his travels as a professional juggler. Based in Tokyo, he now focuses primarily on portrait photography while presenting his works in exhibitions. Drawing on his background as a professional entertainer, he explores the space between art and entertainment. Fascinated by photography’s dual nature as both record and expression, he creates works grounded in his belief that “chance transcends human knowledge”—capturing and transforming moments of coincidence into artistic expression.
