DESCRIPTION
A photograph taken during this year’s trip to Romania. Sibiu — a Habsburg city where cultures intertwine. The image depicts an apotheosis of faith: a portrait of an elderly, devout woman just before entering the church.
AUTHOR
Grzegorz Hussak, born in Opole in 1988, graduated from the Institute of Art in 2012 (University of Opole). Since 2013, he has been a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists (ZPAP), and in 2022 he joined the ZPAP board. Professionally, he works in education, teaching photography in schools. He collaborates with cultural and art institutions in Opole. Since 2021, he has been employed at the Faculty of Art in Opole. Since 2017, he has also served as co-editor of the Mocny Kadr Opole Photographic Magazine.
As an artist, he primarily works in classical black-and-white medium and large-format photography. He runs a research laboratory, exploring themes such as the harmony of abstract imagery, the aesthetics of error, experimentation with expired photosensitive materials, overexposure and underexposure, as well as conceptual and portrait photography.
