Emotional Metadata is a series of fine art photography projects which are an intimate exploration in expressing the world not as it is seen, but as it’s deeply felt.
These works are a visual response the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi (侘び寂び):
An aesthetic or world view characterised by finding beauty in imperfection, impermanence, or simplicity.
Conceptually I capture fleeting fragments of impermanence with an aesthetic which embraces decontextualisation, simplicity and imperfection.
Whilst imbued with personal meaning, metaphor and allegory, the viewer is invited make their own interpretation of each image & may find meaning and symbolism that the artist never intended.
