STREETS OF TIRANA (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Streets of Tirana is a photographic essay I created during my stay in Tirana, from December 22nd to 27th, 2025. During those days, I wandered the city without a fixed itinerary, from Mount Dajtit to its outskirts, letting myself be guided by the daily pulse of its streets. The images are observational photographs and adhere to the unwritten rules of street photography: public spaces, anonymous figures, and the complete absence of prior arrangements. However, unlike the common practice of many photographers in this genre, I don't seek to go unnoticed, either in my presence or in my use of photographic equipment. On the contrary, I am interested in the moment when someone notices the camera and establishes a spontaneous interaction with it. This moment of mutual recognition is the core of the project. I use photography as a tool that allows me to incorporate cinematic language techniques, which I use to reinforce and emphasize the narrative concept of the series. The Streets of Tirana installation consists of an exhibition of 26 photographs and the projection of a 10-minute short film made entirely with 85 photographs.
AUTHOR
I literally grew up in a photography studio in Terrassa. I am a filmmaker, photographer, and cultural manager. In 2014, I left behind my professional career in Barcelona, linked to TV3 and production companies like El Terrat and Dorna, and settled in Ibiza and Formentera. In 2016, I founded Ibizacinefest, the Ibiza International Independent Film Festival, which I continue to direct and program. At the same time, I have produced and directed four feature films related to the island of Ibiza. "Moonface. A Woman in War" won two Silver Biznagas at the 2019 Málaga Film Festival. With my fifth feature film, "Salka, in No Man's Land," I began a new creative phase focused on collaborative projects in Mauritania with the NGO Un Lápiz, un Dibujo (A Pencil, a Drawing), culminating in the documentary "Kitab" in 2021. In March 2023, I premiered "Du vin dans les voiles" (Of Wine in Sails) at the Málaga Film Festival. My feature films have been selected and awarded at festivals such as the Málaga Film Festival, Cinespaña, DocsBarcelona, Atlàntida Film Festival, and Vladivostok, among others. They have also participated in industry sections such as the European Film Market, Visions du Réel Industry, Medimed, and Spanish
