Qatar, like many other Middle East countries, is going through a period of rapid urbanisation. New cities of eye-catching buildings & epic planning are being built as arenas for consumerism, finance and cultural showcasing.
Monumental in scale, The National Museum of Qatar is an example of the epic urban statement that these cities use to put themselves on the global map.
Not yet complete, it’s captured here unpolished and exposed. A bare structure of ambition, extravagance & innovation carving its own space into the city backdrop.

AUTHOR
Both thrilling and frightening, massive growth of cities is one of the global features of our time. Working as an architectural photographer since 2000 I’ve been lucky to have travelled extensively abroad and within the UK. In this time have seen the development of many cities and have become engrossed by urbanism - its structures, narratives and transformations.
