Zentrum Schoenberg in Bern opened 2 years ago focusing on people suffering from dementia. With over 120 residents, the center contributes towards research and training of nursing staff in the field. Striving to improve the awareness of dementia in soiety I was intrusted to develope their mission statement through photography.
«ich bin. bin ich?» (i am. am i ?), offers an intimate insight into the mirror of memory, being the center's residents the subjects of this photo study. the pctures were taken as they stood in front of a two-way mirror. What do they see as they gaze at themselves ? What do the photographs trigger in the beholder? We're constantly trying to preserve the image of ourselves and of our loved ones; however, what do we preserve and where is our focus ? Essential questions. My work does not pretend to give the answer but rather to focus on what is.

The uncharted path is my first choice as I embark on the search for the perfect image. I give depth to my work by pushing myself to the limit both mentally and photographically. My goal, to deliver a viewer experience based on the perception of both strength and weakness.
Born in Barbados, at the age of six my family relocated to Switwerland. After a brief apprenticeship in cabinet making, I began training in the field of multimedia as a graphic designer for six years. It was during this period that I began working with photography. Travelled around the world developing my photographic skills. On my return to Switzerland I enrolled at the school of design in Zurich. For the last eight years I have worked as a freelance photographer. My camera has taken me far and wide and is my constant source of passion and inspiration.
My work is carried out through close dialogue with clients. The intention is always two-dimentional, the photo must carry the message and the camera must reach in and grab the truth of the moment. I work the only way I know how, hard and honest !
