DESCRIPTION
"Ephemeral", which consists mostly of underwater self-portraits, centers around the idea of the human being's impermanence, while struggling to find meaning. The underwater medium is perfect for this, as it features a very delicate balance between chaos and perfection, up to the point where the two coincide.
Part of the ongoing "Weightless Reality" project of underwater photography, focusing on the amazing physics of the underwater medium.
AUTHOR
Coming from a mixed artistic background, Cristiana Apostol is working in the cinematography industry. She is specializing in her main field of interest, underwater artistic model photography, while pursuing her personal photography project, "Weightless Reality".
All her underwater images are shot during apnea - without an oxygen tank, for both models and herself. She uses as little post-processing as possible and relies on experience and the uncontrollable and ephemeral aspect of the medium.
