I awoke early one moening in the midst od a snowstorm outside my window just in time to see a hooded figure walking up Riverside Drive, In my jockey shorts, I grabbed for my camera, opened the window, let in the swirling snow and took just a few frames before the person vanished!
I NEVER SAWTHE FACE OF MY SUBJECT, NEVER DISCOVERED ITS SEX. IT STILL REMAINS A MYSTERY! YEARS LATER THIS IMAGE WAS LEASED TO Macmillan Publishing of Sydney, Australia to illustrate the book jacket of a novel called "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak, won the NY Times Best Seller Awaed for Juveniles. Recentlu, it was made nro a major film.
